G.baueri.JPG (52004 bytes)Grevillea baueri: is a small to medium shrub with small, glossy leaves. Young growth is sometimes reddish. Flowers are carried n clusters and are red and cream. Blooms are profuse, conspicuous and appear from May to December. Honeyeaters are fond of the nectar-rich flowers.
Grevillea baueri is well known in cultivation. We have a number of specimens in our gardens. They have proved to be drought resistant and tolerant of frost. Pruning is appreciated.
Grevillea baueri could be cultivated as a low screening plant or in a shrubbery.
The species was introduced into England in 1824.
Grevillea baueri is a New South Wale’s native and is found in the Central and Southern Coasts and Tablelands.
This attractive small Grevillea propagates readily from cuttings.
