Trachymene.jpg (33566 bytes)Trachymene incisa: is a member of the Apiaceae family, in company with the Flannel Flowers, celery, dill and fennel.
Trachymene incisa is an erect herb, reaching a height of 60 centimetres. The species has a thick perennial rootstock. The leaves are deeply lobed and are held on a 15-centimetre stem or petiole. There are between 30 to 60 individual flowers in the head that is known as an umbel. Flowering occurs from September to May.
Trachymene incisa is widely distributed in New South Wales and Queensland. It is one of the herbaceous plants native to Yallaroo. We have only observed the species growing on rocky outcrops. As yet we have not propagated the species.
Eventually Trachymene incisa will be introduced into our gardens. We will be interested to see how the species copes with life away from its rocky outcrops.
Propagate from seed and probably cuttings.
